I have been slacking so much on this blog writing. Sorry 'bout that! It gets so hectic and busy here! I've been challenged, stretched, and have learned so much this spring. As a staff, we are going through a book called "Celebration of Discipline" by Richard J. Foster. It has been cool to learn different disciplines and to put them into practice in my time here. Some of the disciplines we have gone through this far are meditation, prayer, fasting, study, simplicity, solitude, submission, and service. Alongside of this book, I've been reading "Evangelism and the Sovereignty of God", "How to Win Friends and Influence People", and "The Five Love Languages". So I've got a pretty heavy load! I feel like I've been absorbing lots of information through them. I just wish I could read all day long! We also have been memorizing Psalm 51 and practicing weekly disciplines. It's crazy to think that my time here in Mexico is coming to a close. Soon we are raising support for a former staff by doing a hike 'n' bike :
The staff at Mexico Caravan Ministries is excited to announce our 10th annual Hike-n-Bike fundraiser happening on Thursday, April 24, 2014. MCM staff will spend the day walking, talking and riding to support God’s work in the world! Spencer Hoyt, 2013 staff member, will be going to Lesotho, an enclave of South Africa that is slightly smaller than Maryland, to live with and serve shepherds, who are untouched and unreached by the gospel. We would love your help in funding this young, strong & committed servant as he steps out in faith and obedience. His prayer card is enclosed.
We will leave Imperial Beach, California on foot at approximately 7AM and hike the “Silver Strand” land bridge (a bike trail) into and around Coronado Island. We will walk, talk, pray and enjoy the lovely scenery. Once in Coronado, we will jump on bikes graciously donated by Holland’s Bicycles and ride them back across the strand to Imperial Beach. At the turn we will eat a long-anticipated picnic lunch. The round trip is just over 20 miles and will definitely stretch us!
Our hope is that you will help support this effort financially. Any amount that you give will be greatly appreciated and will go directly to fund Spencer’s trip to Africa. Simply make your check out to Mexico Caravan Ministries. A self-addressed stamped envelope is provided for your use. The envelope is marked “Hike-n-Bike” so your donation will be applied appropriately. Please do not write anything on the check memo line. A donation receipt will be sent to you within a few weeks.
You are receiving this letter because you have shown yourself a faithful supporter and a constant encourager of the work God is doing down here in Tijuana. I hope you’ll be a part of our Hike-n-Bike project this year!
Gratefully yours,
Mexico Caravan Ministries

Keep me in your prayers with these requests:
1. That I will use my time wisely to learn, grow, and serve in Mexico.
2. For doors to open in my return home and to be following where God is leading
